Funded Places
Free Early Learning for 2 Year Olds

This is funding for childcare sessions for 15 hours per week, 38 weeks of the year from the term after their 2nd birthday and is available to families who are accessing certain benefits and meet the relevant criteria. It is not an entitlement for every 2 year old.

Free Early Learning for 3 and 4 Year Olds (Nursery Education Funding)

All 3 and 4-year-olds in England already get 15 hours a week, or 570 hours a year of free early education. If their parents are living and working in England, 3 and 4-year-olds may be entitled to 30 hours free childcare. An extra 570 hours of free childcare a year, so 1140 hours in total. 30 hours free childcare will be available from September 2017.
30 FREE HOURS
The Government has announced it will be doubling free childcare from 2017.

But it's not quite that straightforward...

1) The 30-hours free childcare will only be available to parents who work more than 16 hours a week.

2) There's also a salary cap. Parents who individually earn more than £100,000 a year will not be eligible.

So what is the free childcare deal?
Many working parents of 3 to 4-year-olds in England will be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare - rather than the current 15 hours.

When will it start?
The scheme is scheduled to go nationwide in 2017.

Will my child get it?
Not everyone is eligible - the extra 15 hours are only available to working parents who work more than 16 hours a week and earn under £100,000 per year. This is different to the current free childcare scheme which is open to everyone.

It also only applies to families living in England.
So, to be eligible:

Your child will be aged 3 or 4 in September 2016
You'll work more than 16 hours per week
You'll have an annual income of less than £100,000
You'll live in England
Will all nurseries offer this?
Most will - but some nurseries may not be able to offer the flexible 30 hours free childcare.
EYPP - Early Years Pupil Premium
In April 2015, nurseries and other childcare providers were able to claim additional funding through 'EYPP' to support children.

The EYPP provides an additional 53p per hour for 3 and 4 year old children whose parents meet certain criteria or are in receipt of certain benefits.

This is an additional £302 a year for each child who takes the full 570 hours of their early years entitlement.

These additional funds will make a significant difference as we can use the extra funding to improve the quality of early years education that we provide for your child.

This could include staff training, additional resources or specialised education programmes focussing on areas such as speech and language development.

Ofsted inspections will look at how we use this additional funding and that it is having an impact on improving outcomes for children.

Parents /Carers can apply directly for this additional funding by following the link below, alternatively we will provide you with a form to complete.
